How do I start my free trial?

Simply install the extension from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with your Google account. Your 7-day free trial starts automatically.

Where are my notes stored?

All your notes are stored in YOUR Google Drive. We never store your note content on our servers. You can access them anytime at drive.google.com in the "DriveNotes" folder.

How do I activate my license?

You don't need to do anything. Complete the purchase from the "Get Lifetime Access" button inside the extension and your access is activated automatically within a minute. If the trial screen is still showing, click "Already paid? Refresh status". License keys are only used for licenses we issue manually by e-mail; enter them via "I already have a license key".

Can I get a refund?

Yes! We offer a 14-day refund policy. If you're not satisfied with DriveNotes after purchase, contact us at hello@drivenotes.app within 14 days with your purchase details for a full refund. We also offer a 7-day free trial so you can evaluate DriveNotes before purchasing.

What happens to my notes if I stop using DriveNotes?

Your notes remain in your Google Drive forever. They're stored as HTML files in organized folders, so you can always access them directly through Google Drive even if you uninstall the extension.

Is my data secure?

Yes! Your notes are stored exclusively in YOUR Google Drive — we never see, access, or store your note content on our servers. Your AI provider API key (OpenAI or OpenRouter, if you use the AI feature) stays only in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device. We only store encrypted authentication tokens to keep you signed in. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How does the AI feature work?

The AI writing assistant uses a "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) model. In the extension settings, pick a provider — OpenAI or OpenRouter — and enter your own API key. With OpenRouter you can also type the model ID you want to use (any model listed on openrouter.ai/models; leave it empty to let OpenRouter choose). Your API key is stored only in your browser's local storage — it never leaves your device and we never see or have access to it. AI requests go directly from your browser to the provider you selected.

Technical Issues

If you're experiencing technical issues:

• Make sure you're signed in to your Google account
• Check that you've granted Google Drive permissions
• Try refreshing the extension or restarting your browser
• Ensure you have an active internet connection
• Notes missing after a fresh install or sign-in? Click the sync button in the panel header; your notes are restored from the DriveNotes folder in your Google Drive
• Deleted a note by mistake? It is in your Google Drive trash for 30 days

License & Billing

For questions about licenses, payments, or billing:

• Paid but still see the trial screen? Click "Already paid? Refresh status" in the extension. Make sure you started the purchase from the extension while signed in with the Google account you use for DriveNotes.
• Payment issues? Contact us with the e-mail address you paid with and, if you have it, the receipt or order number
• Have a manually issued license key that won't activate? Check for typos and make sure you're signed in with the Google account the key was issued for
